How the twist is formed
A two-strand twist is created by taking two small sections of hair and twisting them around each other to form a compact, rope-like strand. The “small” designation means thinner sections are used, producing tighter, neater twists that sit close to the scalp and show strong texture definition on natural hair types.
Because the service focuses on small sections, the final look depends on your hair’s natural texture and length. Thinner twists look denser on coarser textures and may appear finer on softer textures. We assess your hair at the start so the twist size matches the outcome you want.
What shapes the result
Hair length, product buildup, and prior stretching or blow-drying influence how neat the twists sit and how much prep is needed. If your hair is very short or requires extra preparation to create clean parts and consistent twists, an additional $50 fee may apply regardless of the braid size selected.
Local climate and lifestyle also matter. Fayetteville’s humid summers can affect how twists hold and look over time, and commuter or military schedules may shape your maintenance routine. We discuss simple upkeep and timing during your appointment so the style fits your day-to-day needs.
